Artist Biography

Al was born in Unity, Sask and enjoyed drawing at a young age. He has been inspired by the beauty around him, and wanted to share with his audience this beauty in his paintings.

Artist Statement

Landscapes and areas of land untouched by human encroachment are Al's inspiration and favorite subjects to portray on canvas and demonstrate to his audience. The pictures that I have taken during my travels across the country form the basis of my paintings. Al has painted many homesteads and old buildings and has done many commission pieces.

Art Instruction Experience

Al was self taught by studying art books and the paintings of the Masters. In the 1980's my formal training was inspired by and developed under the mentorship of the late John Hannley and influenced by Anne Post, Robert Bailley, and Dean Reeves through Continuing Education in Edmonton.
