EXPLORING WATERCOLOUR - INTERMEDIATE
This landscape watercolour workshop is designed for those individuals who have already mastered the basics of working in watercolour. Students will learn to enhance the freshness in their work by experimenting with new ideas and alternative painting techniques. There will be demonstration and class discussion but students will be encouraged to explore their own personal direction through individualized instruction.
Previous experience in the watercolour medium is required for this workshop.
MATERIALS LIST
Please bring the paints, brushes, paper and general materials you have been
using in your painting. If you need to purchase additional materials, the
following is a SUGGESTED list only.
WATERCOLOUR PAPER - 140 lb. block or 140 lb. individual sheets. Masking
tape and a thick piece of cardboard are required to mount paper
WATERCOLOUR PAINT - tubes or cakes. Following colours recommended:
Alizarin Crimson, Quinacridome Pink (Daniel Smith
Lemon Yellow, Sap Green, Cadmium Yellow, Orange and Red
Prussian Blue, French Ultramarine, Winsor Violet
Leaf Green (Holbein), Lamp Black
BRUSHES - 2 brushes required - 3/4 flat synthetic brush and a 3/4” or 1”
synthetic/natural hair oval brush
OTHER MATERIALS -
1 palette box with large mixing trays
1 palette knife
HB pencil
Several water containers
1 rag

Paper Super Deluxe Sketchbook, 93lb, 14’ x11”)
