St. Albert Painters Guild

What's New

August 2020 - Studio Open with restrictions for Members ONLY!

Studio will be open, however there are restrictions as with all businesses etc.

Please read the requirements for entering and using the studio.  Compliance is mandatory and benefits all the members of the Guild as we can start to use the studio again.  We have had to satisfy the local authorities and government guidelines in order for this to happen.  We rely on all the members to follow the guidelines set out to the benefit of us all.  The studio is open to members only!

Painting Groups:  Tuesday Day 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday Evening 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The painting times for the studio have not changed. To fulfil the relaunch agreement to help maintain physical distance, no more than 10 people maximum. are allowed in the studio. What has changed is that it is no longer drop in.

To be able to paint during the studio times, you will need to signup on the site for the day that you are going.  We ask that you do not sign up for multiple times all at once, rather to sign up every week to allow all artists the opportunity to sign in.  By having artists sign in to the studio on the site, it will satisfy the 10 people max rule and also to act as a tracing mechanism if required.

Please read the procedures for cleaning and using the studio.  All signage must be adhered to.  By using the studio to paint you are agreeing to the terms.

We must physical distance ourselves within the studio so that will mean only one artist per table.  Those that stand at an easel also use a table for their paints and therefore count as one table.

All artists will need to wear a mask while in the studio (to be provided by the artist).  The majority of the guild is of an age group that is vulnerable and this will help protect them and everyone else as well.  All face masks are to be provided by the artists.

We recommend that you do not share your supplies.

Hand sanitizer will be available and is to be used upon entering the premise.  Please use the sanitizer through out your time in the studio and upon leaving and re-entering.

Please read the procedures for sanitizing and cleaning the area if you plan on attending the studio painting times. Signage will be provided in the studio.

The Guild Library:

The library will be closed for the time being.  If you have items signed out please hold on to them for the time being.  As soon as we can open the library, the Executive will let you know.

The Studio Office:  Is restricted to the retrieval of easels and their return after sanitization, as well as the storage of the sanitization cart.  The cart will be sanitized at the end of the painting session.

•No storage of paintings.

•No drink cart, bring your own fluids and take them with you.

•No Sharing of food items, if you require snacks bring your own and take your own home again.

•Do not use any other item in the office without consulting the Executive.

I know this is not the back to normal we would love to have, but it is an opportunity for some safe socialization. As time goes on and we can increase the numbers we will be in contact with you about workshops and meetings.

Please stay healthy and use the public health guidelines to keep yourself and your friends in art safe as well.
