MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

The St. Albert Painters Guild offers a creative environment for the emerging or experienced artist.

All services to St. Albert Painters Guild members are provided by volunteers.

Membership

  • Priority will be given to new applicants who are residents of St. Albert, who are eighteen years of age, and who are willing and able to volunteer with the St. Albert Painters Guild.
  • New membership applications are accepted online until membership capacity is reached.
  • Membership fees are $50.00 per annum. The membership year runs from June 1st to May 31st

Art Education

  • Four or five workshops on new techniques and in a variety of media are organized during the year at a reasonable cost to members.
  • A critique is facilitated by an established artist before the Spring and Fall Shows.
  • After each business meeting, there is an opportunity to engage in an enrichment session.

Framing Discounts 

Members get discounts when placing framing orders. Simply say you are with the St. Albert Painters Guild. You must pay for your own orders. No orders are to be billed to the Guild.

Studio Time

  • The studio space at St. Albert Place is usually open for members’use on Tuesday, until 3:00 PM, and on the third and fourth Wednesdays, after 6:00 PM 
  • Excellent opportunities to join fellow members, to share ideas, and to learn from each other in an informal setting.

S.A.P.V.A.C. 

  • St. Albert Place Visual Arts Council is the umbrella organizational committee for all of the Guilds (Potters, Quilters, Painters, Floral and Paper Arts) operating in St. Albert Place
  • Each guild has equal representation.
Library
  • The St. Albert Painters Guild maintains a comprehensive library of books, videos, and magazines related to Art. 
  • The selections are continually upgraded, new items are introduced and members are invited to sign out reference materials or items at each monthly meeting.






Shows and Sales of Members’ Artworks

  • St. Albert Painters Guild Spring and Fall Shows and Sales are the two major three-day events held during the last weekend in April and the last weekend in October respectively at St. Albert Place, inviting Guild members an opportunity to profile and to sell their works to the public.
  • W.A.R.E.S. (Works of Art Representative of Every Guild) is a small retail shop, located in St. Albert Place, providing Guild members the opportunity to display and to sell their work. Hours of operation: Thurs.-Sat., Noon-3:00 PM.
  • St. Albert Place Christmas Sale (Country Craft Fair) is an annual two-day event during the third weekend of November, inviting S.A.P.V.A.C.  to read run by S.A.P..V.A.C.  
  • Guild members to sell their work in the studios of St. Albert Place.
  • Other opportunities to display and to sell members’ works include St. Albert’s Summer Art Walk events on the first Thursday of the month and numerous special events through out the year.

Meetings

General Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of Sep, Oct, Nov, Mar, Apr, and May in the Painting Studio in St Albert Place. Attendance at the monthly meetings provides members opportunities to gain a better understanding of a and participation in the operation and activities of the Guild. 

A pot luck supper is traditionally held in lieu of the December meeting for all members and a guest.

An AGM is held in September.
