PASTELS WORKSHOP
Landscape Painting

Instructor: Gerhard Frost

This all day workshop has room for twelve participants, due to space limitations. You leader will be Gerhard Frost, whom you know as a fellow guild member and who has conducted pastel workshops in the past.
You will learn use application of soft pastels in the traditional manner and work on two small landscapes. We will work from a common composition and paper and fixative will be supplied.
You should have a small set of soft pastels, preferably landscape tints, but any basic set should work.
Bring an apron or something to protect your clothes - that dust is pure pigment and stains. You may want to wear gloves . It should be a fun day.

Please bring a lunch so we can keep the break down to a reasonable time.

Supplies List:
  • Soft pastels, Landscape colours are preferred
  • If you need to purchase a set of landscape pastels, Daler Rowneys are nice and not terribly expensive, also at Delta or Paintspot
  • Bring your hard pastels if you have them, and some vine charcoal or pastel pencils
  • Bring an apron, some disposable gloves, and a bit of painters tape
  • If you are bothered by dust, bring a face mask
  • Examples of landscapes will be provided
