Toadstools in Coloured Pencil – Workshop
Beginner/Intermediate

Complete a magical drawing of toadstools on a black background, using a minimal colour palette. Learn how to layer and blend your colours, and use your pencil strokes to achieve a soft look. Instruction will include demonstrations as well as one-on-one guidance. Photo reference for the drawing will be provided by the instructor.

 

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:

 One 10" x 11" sheet of Stonehenge Paper – Black

• (a 22” x 30” sheet will cut into sixths)
• Coloured Pencils - must be artist's quality (Prismacolor Premier, Derwent Coloursoft, or Faber Castell Polychromos)
• Suggested colours for this project: Prismacolor Premier pencils in the following colours (similar colours may be substituted)  

            White 938 
            Goldenrod 1034   
            Limepeel  1005                                              
            Canary Yellow 916
            Light Umber 941
            Chartreuse 989
            Black 935
            Black Grape 996
  

• A pencil sharpener that works with coloured pencils
  (recommendation: Prismacolor manual sharpener with vestibule)
• 1 kneaded eraser
• HB graphite pencil
• Eraser (drafting) brush – optional

We will be drawing on tables, if you prefer a more upright surface, please bring a drawing board.
