Beginning Zentangle

with Dolly Bolen

Zentangle is a meditative art form drawing patterns creating beautiful images.  Zentangle increases focus, creativity and provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. Each pattern has a name and there are simplified ways to draw seemingly complex looking patterns that a Certified Zentangle Teacher understands having learned how to teach the Zentangle Method at the Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) Training Seminar in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.  Dolly Bolen became A CZT in June of 2014 and she is one of nine CZTs in Alberta.

Students will learn the basic Zentangle method of drawing patterns and how to shade using graphite.  There are no mistakes in Zentangle only opportunities to create something new, the journey creating Zentangle is more important than the destination meaning the art unfolds before your eyes, no preplanning is involved.  Zentangle in its original form creates abstract art.

Supplies included:  Basic Zentangle Supplies (Mini Kit):  Black Archival Pen, Pencil, Blending Stump, five White 3.5” x 3.5” Tiles and one 2” x 2” Bijou Tile in a muslin bag, which participants will take home after the Workshop.

*Contact the workshop coordinator if you have to cancel the registration. Please note fees are transferable, but not refundable.
